Our Story
From Ellis Island to OMG — Nearly 100 Years in the Making
In the early 1920s, a 15-year-old boy named Stylianos Thomas Georgoules arrived at Ellis Island from Greece with $5.00 in his pocket and a dream that refused to be small. He served his adopted country as a U.S. Soldier, worked as a short-order cook in Scranton, and eventually invested $100,000 to open an upscale restaurant inside the Westin Hotel in Chicago — The Westin Grill. Elegant. Ambitious. Ahead of its time.
Decades later, his grandson Steve walked into the new Westin Hotel in Chicago — and there it was. The Grill. They kept the name. In that moment, everything connected: the stories, his father's voice, the original cookbooks discovered hidden in an aunt's apartment. This wasn't just family history. It was unfinished business.
After relocating to Southwest Florida, one thing became clear — something was missing. Not just Greek food, but real Greek food. Fresh. Healthy. Authentic. Consistent. So the decision was made: it was time. OMG Oh My Greeks is that legacy, carried forward — one plate at a time.
